Chronic bronchitis When coughing occurs daily
“I constantly have pressure in my chest.” “My breathing always seems to be obstructed.” “Each morning begins with coughing and sputum.”
This or a similar experience is how chronic bronchitis patients describe their disease.
Excess mucus production is blocking the bronchia, a condition which is caused by cigarette smoke, a prolonged cold or industrial pollution allergy. Eventually this can lead to hyperdistention of the lung (emphysema). In this condition tiny air sacs, called lung alveoli, break, and this causes a reduction in the oxygen exchange area.
This development should absolutely be prevented, if possible.
What is the Vedic medicine point of view on chronic bronchitis?
Chronic bronchitis from an Ayurvedic point of view.
According to the Maharishi Ayurveda approach, chronic bronchitis starts with the loss of natural balance.
Metabolic residues develop continuously due to improper lifestyle. In the case of chronic bronchitis, toxins (in Ayurveda called “Ama”) accumulate in the leading airways of the bronchia. Each bronchitis patient knows that that the symptoms fluctuate and the cause is often unclear.
In Ayurveda every patient is different and so each person’s bronchitis complaint varies. The Ayurvedic approach at our Centre is holistic.
What can Ayurveda do for you?
In Vedic medicine, chronic bronchitis is addressed by combining various treatments into a multi-faceted approach adapted to your individual situation, as determined in a comprehensive diagnosis by one of our physicians.
An integrated approach
Increasingly, patients are finding that conventional therapies alone are not enough.
They recognize that healing must take place on all levels. In the case of chronic bronchitis, for example, an emphasis on elimination of toxins in the intestines as well as bronchia can be recommended. It is important to bring all natural regulatory principles back into harmony. Nutritional recommendations and helpful exercises, as well as specific herbal mixtures tailored according to your needs, support a health-conscious lifestyle. In this way, your natural self-healing abilities can tackle the symptoms of chronic bronchitis from its root cause.
